Warhawks start out on top

UW-Whitewater has won the title before, but even then, the Warhawks lost Justin Beaver and Danny Jones and weren't the top-ranked team in the next preseason poll. The Warhawks didn't repeat, either.

But this year, there are plenty of questions about both UW-Whitewater and Mount Union. The 2010 Division III football season seems a lot more wide open. Heck, the Warhawks and Purple Raiders might not even meet in this year's Stagg Bowl. But we have a month of preseason and 15 weeks of games before we know that for sure.

Who else is breathing down the necks of the purple powers? Check out the 2010 D3football.com Preseason Top 25.

We will then go on to take those top 25 teams and rank the rest of Division III from 1-238, as part of Kickoff 2010. Plus, who will win each conference title? Who will be the key players and X-factors for every team? You get that and more in Kickoff 2010, and we've tweaked it yet again to provide the best team capsules we've ever published.
