PAXTON, Mass. – The Norwich football team amassed 556 yards rushing en route to an 81-7 thrashing of Anna Maria College in Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) action on Saturday. Sophomore QB Kris Sabourin ran for 116 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cadet offense, while sophomore RB Danny Triplett added two touchdowns and 81 yards on just three carries. Junior RB Andrew Fulford added 97 yards on the ground.

Sabourin opened the scoring just 2:33 into the game on a 9-yard run. Just under a minute later Mike Ohrenberger doubled the Cadets' lead to 14-0 with a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Norwich defense kept up the pressure as Zach Sucharski recorded a safety to push the lead to 16-0. After a Long Ding field goal, Chris Denton returned a punt 57 yards to push the lead to
26-0 after the Ding point after attempt was good.

Anna Marie recorded its lone score of the game with 1:08 left in
the first quarter when Santino Simone hooked up with Dom
Concepcion for a 35-yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to 26-7
after Jamal Mitchell's kick.

It was all Norwich from there however as Sabourin opened the second quarter scoring with a 77-yard scamper with 12:14 left in the period. Triplett punched in his first score of the game 4:30 minutes later to increase the lead to 39-7.

Sabourin picked up his third and final score with 2:46 remaining in the half on a 21-yard run to give the Cadets a 46-7 lead heading into the locker room.

The onslaught continued on the opening kickoff of the second half when Derius Silas returned the kick 81 yards for a touchdown.

Senior RB Kyle Marzeoti scored from 20 yards out and Triplett picked up his second score of the game with 4:55 remaining in the quarter to push the lead to 67-7.

Senior RB Pat Sikora and senior QB Zach Angelos each added 2-yard touchdown runs in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring.

Norwich's 81 points broke a school record for most points scored in a game. The previous high was 69 against Middlebury in 1974.

The 74-point margin of victory also broke the school record for the largest margin of victory, which was previously a 65-0 win over Fitchburg State in 1985.

The Cadets (7-1, 5-1 ECFC) have now won four straight games heading into a first-place showdown with undefeated SUNY Maritime on Saturday in Throggs Neck, N.Y. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
