Thunder Improve to 5-0

Trine wasted little time scoring 28 first quarter points as it rolled to a 51-7 win over LaGrange (Ga.) Saturday at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.

Kent Biller (Nappanee, Ind./Northwood) scored on a 63-yard touchdown run just four plays into the game to take a 7-0 lead.  The Thunder struck less than two minutes later as Aaron Selking (Decatur, Ind./Adams Central) picked off a LaGrange pass and returned it 56 yards to make it 14-0 at the 11:56 mark in in the first quarter. The Thunder continued to dominate scoring on seven of their first nine possessions to put the game out of reach.

Biller would finish the day with 77 yards on just five carries.  Trine collected 292 yards on 46 attempts.

Eric Watt (Kentland, Ind./South Newton) completed 17-of-24 passes for 195 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown. Thomas Wyman (Lake Station, Mich./Chippewa Hills) had four passes for 30 yards, including two scores.

Selking highlighted the Thunder defensive effort with 7 tackles and a the interception return.  Chris Eichman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) made six stops, including one for a loss. Jacob Vance (Fenton, Mich./Lake Fenton) had five tackles including two for loss.

The Thunder are now 5-0. LaGrange is 2-4.
