WATERTOWN, Wis. - The MLC football team scored 35 unanswered points to start the game, and finished with a 42-18 win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College Saturday afternoon.

MLC quarterback Greg Holzhueter had an efficient day throwing the ball, completing nine of 14 attempts for 104 yards and three scores, two of which went to Galen Holzhueter.

On the ground, MLC ran for 172 yards, led by Aaron Voss' 65 yards on ten carries, with three touchdowns. Andrew Becker added 43 yards on four carries.

With his three touchdowns, Voss improved his career rushing total to 30, just one behind all-time MLC record holder Joel Russow.

Defensively, the Knights didn't allow a pass to be completed against them all day, forcing an 0-6 from MBBC starting QB Bobby O'Brien, and also intercepting one pass. Matt Rothe led the way with eight tackles and a fumble recovery.

MLC took control of the game from the start, scoring the game's first 35 points off three Voss touchdowns, and two scoring strikes from Greg to Galen Holzhueter of 28 and 11 yards.

After MBBC scored with 1:42 remaining in the second quarter to cut the MLC lead to 35-6, the Knights put together their last scoring drive of the game to end the half, with Holzhueter hitting Scott Henrich in the end zone for a four-yard touchdown to push the lead to 42-6 heading into the half, and putting the game away.

MLC will return to action next Saturday (September 11), when it travels to Augsburg for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
