This itinerary starts with our easternmost Thursday night season opener Week 1, with Anna Maria at Coast Guard. With an evening kickoff in Week 1, you'll still have some sunlight and you'll get the full effect of one of the best views from the grandstand, with the Thames River a couple of long punts from the sideline. From there it's a short trip up I-395 to Worcester, Mass., for MIT at WPI on Friday night. See if WPI can engineer an upset of last year's playoff surprise, or if you prefer, preview NEWMAC football. Start your drive that night to get to the New York City area and see Maine Maritime at SUNY-Maritime for a Saturday afternoon start which also features a great backdrop on the water. SUNY-Maritime is on an outcrop of land in the middle of the East River, and that's the Throgs Neck Bridge in the background of the photo at right. And after that, you'll want to hit the road as quickly as possible to make your final game of the night. That's the former MAC matchup: Moravian at King's

If you don't mind doing a lot more driving on Friday night or Saturday morning, you could continue past NYC and head down past Philadelphia to see Rowan at Widener. Also, Friday nights in Massachusetts are good for D-III games if you want to make a different choice, but none will have a shorter name than MIT-WPI!

Total: Four games, 368 miles start to finish.
