Greensboro has named Bill Young head football coach. Young, currently defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, succeeds Randy Hunt, who also will be returning to the faculty at his request.

Young takes over a team that went 0-10 this past season, and 7-23 in Hunt's three years as head coach.

Young joined Greensboro in 2000 as special-teams coordinator and defensive backs coach after a graduate assistantship Virginia. Previously, he had coached at the high school level in Florida and then at West Georgia and Mars Hill. He was named defensive coordinator in 2001 and added associate head coach and recruiting coordinator to his portfolio in 2002. He holds a B.S. in education from Central Florida and a masters from West Georgia.

Hunt, a member of the faculty and staff since 1991, steps down as head coach after three seasons. He holds the faculty rank of professor of exercise and sport studies and previously has chaired the physical education and kinesiology departments and both the Division of Education and the Division of Kinesiology. He also has served as the faculty representative to the Board of Trustees.
