Bowdoin opened and closed the scoring with mammoth interception returns for scores as the Polar Bears downed Tufts 27-6 on Saturday. It's believed to be the first time that a team returned two interceptions 99 or more yards for touchdowns in the same game.

With 10:43 remaining in the second period, sophomore Joey Cleary opened the scoring by picking off a Johnny Lindquist pass at the Bowdoin 1 and running straight down the right sideline for a 99-yard touchdown. Lindquist was attempting to scramble to the right and threw the ball while being tackled.

Not to be outdone, sophomore Griffin Cardew, Cleary's roommate, closed the scoring and sealed the win with a near instant replay with 4:10 remaining in the contest as he snared a Lindquist pass at the goal line and returned the ball for an NCAA record-tying 100-yard return.

Dan Calabrese returned two interceptions for touchdowns by himself and had three picks overall as Case Western Reserve beat Oberlin 47-21.

The kick ended a back-and-forth fourth quarter which started with W&L leading 7-0. Norwich held onto the Sap Bucket, defeating its in-state Vermont rival Castleton State 40-21.  Hobart scored 20 points in the third quarter and rushed for 288 yards in a 41-24 Liberty League win against Union, remaining undefeated. UW-Oshkosh forced four consecutive incomplete passes to finish a 23-16 win at UW-Eau Claire. St. Vincent beat Washington and Jefferson for the first time, batting down a Hail Mary at the end to preserve the 35-27 win.

Benedictine rallied to beat its local rival Aurora 26-19 and remain unbeaten in Northern Athletics Conference play. St. Scholastica remained unbeaten overall with a 35-7 win at Northwestern (Minn.). Trinity (Texas) remained unbeaten with a 27-9 win against Sewanee. St. John Fisher powered a tipped field goal through the uprights to beat Ithaca 13-10 in overtime. Nick Kaylor kicked a 36-yard field goal as time expired to give Pacific Lutheran a 20-17 win against Whitworth.

Ohio Northern bounced back from back-to-back losses as Tyler Rue threw for 245 yards in a 38-20 win at Capital. Ben Guiles had two touchdown catches for Lebanon Valley in a comeback 24-17 win against Albright.
