See you in Salem!

Stone Station
Fans braved the cold and snow in 2009 to tailgate in Salem.

The late kickoff for Stagg Bowl XXXVIII just opens up more great time for tailgating. And fans and visitors to Stone Station can take it all in again this Saturday.

We wrote about the tailgating back in 2006 and the basics haven't changed since. Stone Station is the Bridgewater College tailgating crew which makes the trip 100 miles down from Bridgewater's area to help fans feel welcome at the Stagg Bowl.

It's not one of the official events, at least, the NCAA's listing doesn't make note of Stone Station's contribution, but the Salem folks know.

They plan to start serving between 12:30 and 1 p.m., with fried turkey and fried potato chips on the menu, as well as pulled barbecue, chicken quarters and all the fixins, low country boil, Olinemom's famous brownies and the list goes on and on. And on!

If you come and can bring a dish side dish, drinks or desserts to contribute to the tailgate, do so, or bring a cash donation (since they put this on through the kindness of their own hearts) and enjoy the atmosphere. Plus D3football.com will be on the air with a live video broadcast from the parking lot as well, two hours-plus before game time.
