Niles Nelson is out as football coach at Husson after two seasons, according to a report in the Bangor Daily News. He compiled a record of 5-14, including 1-9 this past season.
The school refused to confirm the report. However, Nelson told the newspaper on the record: "When you feel like they don’t want you, it’s disappointing. At the same time, I have faith in God. My faith has sustained me through most things. You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is."
Nelson, 72, followed Gabby Price, who was the program's first head coach when the school reinstated football after a 50-year absence.
