The Pool B playoff picture got a slight remodel on Saturday as the University of Chicago came up with a big win and Wesley knocked off its football archrival.

Justin Sottilare connected with Ellis Krout for a 27-yard touchdown to push No. 3 Wesley past its Route 13 rival Salisbury 17-14.  Chris Mayes had seven stops, four for loss and a fumble recovery in the Wolverines' victory. The win keeps Wesley unbeaten, while Salisbury falls onto the Pool B bubble.

The Sea Gulls got some help, however. Case Western Reserve's 38-game regular season winning streak came to an end with a 24-20 loss at Chicago. That leaves just Wesley and one other Pool B-eligible team unbeaten, and that was SUNY-Maritime, which defeated Norwich 20-2. There are three Pool B spots in the playoffs. Case has one loss but has yet to play Washington U. (6-2) as well as Carnegie Mellon.

St. Norbert finds itself all alone in first in the Midwest Conference, as the Green Knights rolled over Ripon, Grinnell knocked off Illinois College and Monmouth beat Carroll in overtime. Grinnell's win secured the program's first winning season since 2004, as the Pioneers are 6-3 under interim coach Jeff Pedersen, a 2000 D3football.com All-America selection.

There are five teams tied for second, one game behind St. Norbert, in the Midwest Conference standings. The conference ends its season a week early, with St. Norbert able to win the automatic bid and the conference title outright with a win against Lake Forest (2-7, 2-6).

Ithaca defeated Utica 30-6 to clinch its 40th consecutive winning season. Eric Hamilton picked up his 200th career win as TCNJ held off Western Connecticut 22-16. Amherst remained unbeaten in a big way, defeating Tufts 70-49. Gettysburg scored the final 34 points of the game in just over 18 minutes to rally past Susquehanna 61-50.

North Carolina Wesleyan and Christopher Newport won to remain in a tie for first for the USA South. That's thanks in large part to Shenandoah downing Averett 24-14.

RPI defeated Union 21-7 to reclaim the Dutchman Shoes trophy for the fourth time in five years.
