Each week during the regular season we look at some of the key statistical performances from the weekend in Division III football, highlighting one per region.
Entering Saturday night’s road game at Morrisville State, junior Alex Hendrickson’s career-best rushing performance for Brockport State was 42 yards. Hendrickson blew by that total in less than five minutes and finished with 310 yards on 43 carries, the most yards by a Division III running back this year.
Desmond Baker blocked two kicks for McMurry on Saturday in a 51-19 win against Howard Payne, an extra point and a field goal that led to a 53-yard return for a touchdown by D.J. Baiza. Baker also had three tackles and two pass breakups on defense.
Kalamazoo defeated Albion for the first time since 1983, thanks in no small part to freshman quarterback Sam Landry. He completed 25 of 44 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns, and added 46 yards rushing and another TD.
