Chris Kolb helped McDaniel to a 3-0 record with three interceptions, three pass breakups and three tackles in a 24-14 win at Catholic in non-conference action. His final pass breakup came on the final pass of the game to keep the Cardinals out of the end zone.

Rick Powell accounted for 309 of Defiance's 352 total yards of offense and scored a pair of touchdowns to push the Yallowjackets to a 24-10 win at Hanover. Powell averaged 9.8 yards per carry -- Salisbury-type numbers -- en route to piling up 195 rushing yards, and had touchdown runs of 71 and 17 yards to go along with a 45-yard sprint. Powell also connected on 17 of 24 passes for 114 yards.

Three players rushed for 120-plus yards as Maine Maritime ran past Mass-Dartmouth 42-0. Jim Bower carried 25 times for 180 yards, Matt Rende had 16 carries for 169 yards and three scores, while Bill Wetherbee had just three carries, but two of them were for 60 and 59 yards as he finished with 120 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive lineman Erick Janicki had just four tackles, but all were sacks as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps defeated Pacific 37-9. Two of them came on third down and long, forcing punts.
