The first football season in 19 years opens next month at Pacific with a non-conference game Sept. 4 against NWC opponent Puget Sound. As Keith Buckley gets his first team on the field, there's a lot to decide in a short amount of time, and not much time to spend on the basics.

"In a situation like this, you have no idea what's going to show up, who's going to show up and what kind of product you're going to put on the field," Buckley said, "and I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of work the guys put over the summer to come into camp in shape.  That means we won't spending camp getting into shape. We'll spend camp getting ready to play football."

The Boxers also sold out their season-ticket package, with 500 reserved seats gone for all four home games.

The 2010 season kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 2 with six games, including an afternoon contest between No. 11 Ohio Northern and UW-River Falls, then five more on Friday before Week 1 kicks into high gear on Saturday. Check out the full Week 1 schedule.
