Occidental quarterback Justin Goltz and Greensboro defensive
lineman Brandon Drumgoole were selected in the 2010 UFL draft.
Goltz, who was in a Detroit Lions minicamp shortly after graduation
last season, was taken by Sacramento in the first round, No. 3
overall, while Drumgoole was selected in the ninth round, 44th
overall.
The draft for the five-team league lasted 12 rounds.
Drumgoole, a senior this past season, had a team-high 16 tackles
for loss and six sacks.
"This is a great honor for Brandon and we're proud of him," said
Greensboro coach Randy Hunt. "The UFL is perhaps the world's
second-best football league behind the NFL. Brandon has a pro body
and we look forward to following his career."
Goltz completed 66 percent of his passes for 1,832 yards in nine
games for Occidental as a senior in 2008, adding 599 yards and
eight yards rushing. He threw 11 touchdowns and just three
interceptions.
