ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick’s 2019 season came to a close on Saturday as the Hawks dropped a 58-14 decision to Utica in an Empire 8 contest at Charles Gaetano Stadium in Utica.
Hartwick (1-8, 0-5 E8) held the lead in the fourth quarter over visiting SUNY Cortland (8-1, 5-1 E8), but the Red Dragons out-scored the Hawks 17-0 in the period to emerge with a 32-21 victory on Saturday at Wright Stadium on ’Wick’s Senior Day.

ALFRED, NY – Hartwick erased a 20-6 first-half deficit and scored the last 24 points of the game on Saturday as the Hawks came away with a 30-20 victory over Alfred State at Pioneer Stadium. The Hawks would overcome four first-half turnovers and the defense would hold the Pioneers scoreless over the final 41-plus minutes, limiting them to just 71 yards in the second half.

Visiting Brockport showed why it is the fourth-ranked team in the country on Saturday with a 55-7 defeat of Hartwick football in a game played at Wright Stadium. The Golden Eagles’ defense, which entered the game allowing a national best -5.3 rushing yards per game, made it very difficult for the Hawks on the ground (-37 yards on 27 carries).
Buffalo State registered 447 yards of offense and forced five Hartwick turnovers as the Bengals defeated the Hawks 41-7 on Saturday in the Empire 8 Conference opener for both teams.

The Hawks came back in the final quarter as Ballard scored on a 1-yard run and Macina hit Mucci for a 21-yard touchdown to put the game away.
ALFRED, NY – Hartwick couldn’t contain a relentless Alfred rushing attack in the final game of the season for both teams on Saturday at Yunevich Stadium. The Saxons prevailed by a final score of 63-21. The Hawks close out their season 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the Empire 8. AU wraps its campaign 7-3 and 5-2 in the league.
Alfred accumulated 627 yards of offense, all on the ground, while holding the Hawks to 265 yards on the day. The Saxons would score touchdowns on each of their first three possessions to jump out to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Hawks trimmed the gap to 14 points twice in the second quarter, but AU scored at the end of the period and out-scored ’Wick 28-7 in the second half to score the victory.

BROCKPORT, NY – Unbeaten Brockport (7-0, 5-0 E8), which is ranked No. 12 in the latest D3football.com poll, held the high-powered Hartwick offense scoreless on Saturday, 45-0. The Hawks fall to 3-5 and 2-3 with the loss.
