Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College Head Football Coach Steve Opgenorth announced the addition of Alex Hanna to his staff.
 
Hanna will coach the Yeomen's cornerbacks and also serve as the director of football operations.
 
"I am honored and excited to be joining Coach Opegenorth and the Yeomen football team in helping them raise the standard," she said. "We all share a vision to build and develop this elite football program. The coaches, team, and athletics staff have welcomed me with open arms, and I am beyond thankful for this opportunity."
 
Hanna joins a very small list of women who hold coaching roles within NCAA football. Most recently she interned with the Cleveland Browns in their community relations and youth football department. She assisted in executing over 20 youth football camps and clinics, while educating and coaching over 600 athletes.
 
"Alex is a tremendous addition to our coaching staff and college football program," Opgenorth said. "She was born to be in football.  It will be inspiring to see her grow within the profession and help our student-athletes reach their full potential on and off the field.  Alex had tremendous recommendations from her work with the Cleveland Browns, as well as her undergraduate experiences within the college football landscape.  I am proud to have her join our football staff as we continue to raise the standard here at Oberlin College."
 
Prior to her tenure with the Browns, Hanna coached the defensive line for one season at nearby Mentor High School, helping the Cardinals earn an OHSAA playoff appearance and top-25 national ranking.  
 
From 2016-2018, Hanna assisted with football operations and coaching the defensive line and safeties at the University of Delaware. During her two seasons with the Blue Hens, she helped in recruiting two of the top classes in the Colonial Athletic Association. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management from the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.
 
Before transferring to Delaware, Hanna attended Florida Atlantic University, where she provided support within football operations while assisting with wide receivers. She also aided in the procurement of the top-ranked recruiting class in Conference USA.
 
Hanna officially started her duties with the Yeomen on May 1.
