Devonte Wilson leapt over this stack of weight plates as well as many other tall piles of items in his workout videos. |
Devonte Wilson has had millions of views on his workout videos and has had stories written about him in all sorts of publications. But, aside from a short-lived attempt to walk onto the football team at Kansas, Wilson hasn't had a chance to play college football.
Until this fall.
Wilson, a workout wizard with more than 150,000 followers on Instagram, will suit up and play running back this fall at Concordia-Chicago. What the Cougars will get, however, is anyone's guess.

"He's a gifted athlete," says Concordia-Chicago coach Randy Awrey. "But I don't know what he can do with a football in his hands."
Wilson last played football in high school, in Junction City, Kan. The first time he'll have a football in his hands, other than one carry in the KU spring game a few years ago, comes up in a little over a week.
Meanwhile, Wilson ran track in the spring, finishing the season with a 10.95 mark in the 100-meter dash and a 22-10.5 in the long jump despite being hampered by a pulled hamstring.
