The week of the one-handed grab

More news about: Endicott

On a week full of great one-handed grabs, this one took the cake. It's part of a last-second drive that ended with a play ruled a touchdown, but this is a catch nobody can deny, as Brendan Johnson comes down with a 51-yard catch on fourth-and-10, getting Endicott beyond midfield in the final seconds vs. Bridgewater State. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 2 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Senior receiver Griffin Brennecke hauls in a 12-yard touchdown pass from Matt Sacia to give Wartburg a 20-7 lead late in the second quarter vs. Monmouth. The Knights went on to win 36-13.

The box score reads: Jackson Redmond 20 yd pass from Sam Sasso. That hardly does this catch justice. It comes in Simpson's 45-13 win vs. Illinois College.

Jordan Powell hits the FDU-Florham quarterback at the 25-yard line, then beats everyone to the ball and returns it for a touchdown. It was one of three defensive scores -- two by Powell -- in Widener's 49-7 win.

Ferrum quarterback Zack Clifford put this pass where only Johnny White could catch it, and in fact, he could only catch it one-handed. White comes down with it on the 3-yard line and Ferrum kicked a field goal to go up 23-0 in a game it would win, 40-20, vs. The Apprentice School.
