The Crimson and Gray finished the year at 6-4 overall, 4-3 in conference play, while the Cambridge Engineers wrapped up their season at 3-6, 1-6 in the NEWMAC.
Newport, RI --- In a back-and-forth game, Salve Regina scored two late touchdowns to secure a dramatic 21-14 victory over WPI in NEWMAC football action on Saturday. The Engineers dip to 5-4 overall, 3-3 in conference play, while the Seahawks go to 5-4, 4-2 in the NEWMAC.
WORCESTER -- WPI quarterback Mike Ingraffia notched his second-straight five-touchdown performance as the Engineers topped the visiting US Merchant Marine Academy, 35-21, on H. Carr Field at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The NEWMAC victory moves WPI to 2-2 in conference play, 4-3 overall, while the Mariners dip to 5-2 overall, 3-2 in the NEWMAC.
Springfield, MA --- An explosive ground game and a strong defense propelled the Springfield football team to a 51-7 victory over WPI on Saturday afternoon in NEWMAC action at Stagg Field. The Pride runs its season record to 5-0, including 2-0 in NEWMAC play, while the Engineers dip to 3-2 overall, 1-1 against conference opponents.
Troy, NY --- RPI QB Jake Kazanowsky threw for four touchdowns and his defense held WPI to just 203 yards of offense, including only 61 in the first half, as the Engineers of Troy bested the Worcester Engineers 51-7 on Friday night in the annual Transit Trophy game. RPI improves to 2-1, while WPI suffers its first loss, also going to 2-1.
WORCESTER -- Senior running back John Chau ran for 48 yards and two first-half touchdowns on 11 carries as the WPI Engineers executed in all three phases of the game to overwhelm the visiting University of New England Nor’Easters, 31-13, Friday night.

WORCESTER -- MIT jumped out to a 14-0 lead and held on for a 21-14 victory, as the WPI football team dropped its season finale at home on Saturday. The loss ends the Worcester Engineers’ season at 4-6 overall, 2-4 in NEWMAC play, while the Engineers of Cambridge improve to 3-6 overall, 1-5 in conference action.
New London, CT --- A blocked field goal from Matt Guarneri and a one-yard touchdown run from Hunter Carey in the second overtime period sealed a wild win for the WPI football team on Saturday. The Engineers topped NEWMAC-rival Coast Guard on the road 30-24 in the penultimate game of the season for both teams.
WORCESTER -- A 90-yard Ryan Hannigan kickoff return touchdown sparked the WPI football team to a 20-15 win at home over visiting Norwich on Saturday afternoon. The Engineers improve to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the NEWMAC, while the Navigators dip to 3-6, 2-3 in conference play.
WORCESTER -- Graduate student Zachary Levy ran for a career-high 219 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries to power WPI over Coast Guard Academy, 38-6, in a NEWMAC tilt on Senior Day at Alumni Stadium Saturday.
Northfield, VT --- Senior quarterback Brendan Olexa threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-25 passing, and WPI pitched a defensive shutout for a 28-2 win at Norwich to claim its second victory of the season on a rainy Vermont Saturday afternoon.
WORCESTER -- Springfield football stayed undefeated in NEWMAC play, as the visiting Pride upended host WPI 46-17 on Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Springfield improves to 3-0 in the conference, 4-3 overall, while WPI stands at 1-5 overall, 0-3 in the NEWMAC.
Kings Point, NY --- WPI was stopped at 4th and goal from the one yard line with just over a minute left to play, as undefeated Merchant Marine held on for a 31-28 victory at home on Saturday afternoon in the NEWMAC opener for both teams.
The NEWMAC lost Maine Maritime from its conference for football when the school eliminated its football program, but the conference will return to one-fourth seafaring in the fall of 2023 when SUNY-Maritime takes that spot.
Scott Sperone, the defensive coordinator at WPI, will get his first head coaching position, as he'll replace Jim McGuire at the helm of Fitchburg State.
WORCESTER --- Senior Sean McAllen ran for 164 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries to be named MVP and lead WPI past Western Connecticut, 35-6, in a New England Bowl Series game at Alumni Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Northfield, VT --- Sean McAllen rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns in the first quarter and Connor Field added three rushing touchdowns of his own to set a new WPI single-season scoring record as WPI defeated host Norwich 70-28 Saturday to clinch a share of its first NEWMAC championship.
WORCESTER --- Sean McAllen and Connor Field combined to rush for 243 yards and five rushing touchdowns in the first half leading WPI to a 54-7 win over Coast Guard in a NEWMAC football contest Saturday afternoon.
