The ’07 Middlebury graduate will be doing events both on and off campus over the two-day period. Hauschka will speak and be interviewed by Sports Illustrated senior writer Alex Wolff during a presentation on Thursday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the McCullough Social Space on campus. The event is open to Middlebury College ID holders only, with free tickets available at the box office on April 3. A public event will take place on Friday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Middlebury Union High School with donations benefiting “Project Graduation”. A meet and greet will follow.
Former Middlebury College kicker Steven Hauschka ’07 has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks worth $9.15 million with $3.35 million guaranteed. Three members of the Middlebury College football team were honored when nationally-acclaimed D3football.com announced its four all-region teams. Senior quarterback McCallum Foote (Newton, Mass.) and senior offensive lineman Jack Allard (Natick, Mass.) were named to the first team, while senior tight end William Sadik-Khan (Chappaqua, N.Y.) was a third-team honoree. Middlebury College football quarterback McCallum Foote (Newton, Mass.) has been named one of four finalist for the 2013 Gagliardi Trophy given to the most outstanding football player in NCAA Division III by Jostens and the J-Club of Saint John's University of Minnesota. The Gagliardi Trophy, given annually since 1993, recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service. The award is named after John Gagliardi, Saint John's legendary Hall of Fame head football coach who retired in 2012 with 489 career victories, the most in college football history. The trophy will be presented on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in Salem, Va., at a banquet kicking-off a series of Division III Stagg Bowl championship events where the final four candidates will be on hand. Joining him as finalists are junior quarterback Kevin Burke from Mount Union (Ohio), senior linebacker Cole Klotz from Wisconsin-Whitewater and senior running back Octavias McKoy from Western Connecticut State.

Former Panther football coach Mickey Heinecken will receive the George C. Carens Award for contributions to the game of football from the New England Football Writers. Middlebury College tight end William Sadik-Khan (Chappaqua, N.Y.) has been named District I First-Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is just the fourth player in school history to earn the award, joining Paul Righi (Men’s Basketball in ’82), John Humphrey (Men’s Basketball in ’88) and Andrew Harris (Men’s Basketball in ’08). Sadik-Khan and his teammates finished the season with a 7-1 mark, earning a share of the NESCAC Championship.
