WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's football team remained undefeated on the young season Saturday, as they held the pedal to the metal from start to finish, en route to a 70-23 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. That is just six points shy of the team's single game scoring record, and is the most points the program has scored in a game since setting that record against Lawrence in 2014. The Pioneers also finished with 564 yards of total offense on Saturday, just three shy of the school record.
Mike Budziszewski, most recently offensive coordinator at Millikin, moves to Carroll, which is looking to move up the standings in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Coast Guard won a trophy game on a quarterback run in the closing seconds, Carroll had its closing seconds extended by a play and St. Norbert confirmed the bar for 2018 was set at 91 points in Division III football action on Saturday, Sept. 22. Here's the Week 4 roundup.
Every fan hopes to watch more than ten games this season. But, if you want to pay attention beyond just your favorite team, these are the marquee regular season matchups that columnist Clyde Hughes is excited about.
Carroll has won 70 percent of its games the past five seasons, but that hasn't been enough to bring back a Midwest Conference title. This year could be different.
The addition will give the Midwest Conference 12 teams and a title game starting in 2014. It also means that Macalester will not bring football back to the MIAC in the near future.
