Four Division III football conferences are joining the ever-growing number of leagues sponsoring postgame bowls, as the Ohio Athletic Conference, Presidents' Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference will square off this November in Canton.
Nov. 14 – Latrobe, Pa. – The Bethany College football team earned their third-straight victory, defeating Saint Vincent College, 35-27, on Saturday afternoon. The Bison scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Bearcats and become ECAC Bowl eligible for the second-straight season.
Nov. 2 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – After shouldering the workload Bison football’s 58-26 victory over Grove City, Bethany single-season rushing record holder, Jalen Holmes (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Oct. 31 – BETHANY, W. Va. - In a day that celebrated the Bethany College senior class, it was junior Jalen Holmes (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) that stole the show as the Bison football team trounced Grove City College, 58-26, on Saturday afternoon.
Oct. 26 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – After helping lead the Bethany College football team to a 41-15 victory over Geneva College on Saturday, Bison senior defensive end Nadim Raddar (Laurel, Md./Old Mill) has been selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced the PAC on Monday afternoon.
Oct. 3 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College football team dropped a 59-20 decision to visiting Case Western Reserve University on Saturday afternoon. During the game, the Bison also honored the 2015 Bethany Athletics Hall of Fame class, as well as the 1965 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship football team.
Waiting is always going to be difficult. Some players sit for years behind a starter, preparing for their opportunity to lead their team on game day. If you don't break into the starting lineup until your senior year, that's a lot of waiting you've done.
Sept. 26 ? WAYNESBURG, Pa. ? The Bethany College football team (2-2, 1-1 PAC), proved that it could win a football game in multiple ways as the Green & White tallied a 27-14 victory over Waynesburg University on Saturday afternoon in Waynesburg.
Sept. 19 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bison football team opened Presidents’ Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon against Westminster College at Bison Stadium. Four second-half turnovers befell the Green & White, as Bethany dropped the contest, 38-24.
Sept. 12 - BETHANY, W. Va. - Led by a record-setting day from senior wideout Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) the Bethany College football team could do no wrong on the offensive side of the ball. The Green & White raced past Thiel College, 51-16, on Saturday evening at Bison Stadium.
Sept. 5 – ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Bethany College football team (0-1) opened their 2015 campaign against the University of Mount Union on Saturday afternoon. The Bison dropped the game by a final of 47-0 to the Purple Raiders, who entered the contest ranked second in the country by D3Football.com.
Nov. 22 – OWINGS MILLS, Md. – For the first time since the 1980 campaign, the Bethany College football team competed in post-season action. Things did not go the Bison’s way, however, as the Green & White fell, 29-7, to Stevenson University in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southeast Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
Nov. 15 – BETHANY, W. Va. – Despite rushing for a season-high 336 yards, the Bethany College football team (6-4, 5-3 PAC) dropped a 41-35 decision to Saint Vincent College on Saturday.
Oct. 11 – BETHANY, W. Va. – If the old adage is true, that defense wins championships, then the Bethany College football team (5-1, 4-0 PAC) could have the golden ticket. The Bison celebrated Homecoming in style as the defense held Carneige Mellon to just 198 total yards and Green & White defeated the Tartans, 19-7, for their fifth-straight victory.
Eric Blinn has accomplished a lot in a short period of time. Midway through his junior season, Bethany’s star wide receiver has already broken two school records, in just 25 games.
October 4 - CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Bethany College football team (4-1, 3-0 PAC) used a solid defensive effort to capture their third-straight conference win, 25-14, over Case Western Reserve University on Saturday. During the contest, junior wideout Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) also broke the Bethany records for receiving yards in a career.
Sept. 27 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College football team (3-1, 2-0 PAC) kept the good times rolling, as they won their third-straight contest, a 33-27 victory over Waynesburg University on Saturday evening at Bison Stadium. The 3-1 start to open the season marks the Bison’s best start since the 2001 campaign.
Oct. 19 – WAYNESBURG, Pa. – What a difference a year makes. Last season the Bison were defeated by Waynesburg University on a last second field goal. This season, it was once again a field goal that turned the tide, but in a different way. With 2:27 remaining in the game, and the contest tied at 20, sophomore Dion Williams (Clinton, Md./Frederick Douglass) blocked a 26-yard field goal attempt, and then sophomore Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) scored the game-winning touchdown eight plays later to give Bethany the 27-20 victory on Saturday afternoon in Waynesburg.
Bethany announced that long-time assistant coach and offensive coordinator Bill Garvey has been promoted to head football coach, effective immediately.
After culminating an outstanding career on the field, Bethany College senior Johnathan Foster added another honor to his lengthy list of accomplishments by being voted to the Capital One First Team Academic All-American football team, as presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
