Today's Contest
Today is the seventh Ohio Athletic Conference game and fourth home contest for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts Marietta College  Last week, the Yellow Jackets exploded for a season-high 72 points in a 72-9 victory over Wilmington College on Hall of Fame Day. Marietta fell to John Carroll University in a home thriller by a final score of 23-21.

The Series
BW and Marietta are meeting for 42nd time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series by a margin of 35-6. BW has won 12 of the last 13 meetings.  The last Pioneer victory came in the 2016 season when Marietta won a 62-56 shoot out. The series began in 1974 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Pioneers, 73-0, in Berea 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert 
Hilvert is in his third season at BW and has a record of  20-7 and OAC slate of 17-7. He is 86-26 in his 11th overall season and is 2-0 against Marietta. 

Marietta Head Coach Andy Waddle
Waddle is in his seventh season Marietta and has a record of 25-40 overall and 21-39 mark in the OAC.  He is 1-5 vs. Baldwin Wallace. 

Last Game vs. Marietta -- Oct. 27, 2018
BW scored 30 points on 293 yards passing, 96 yards passing and 389  total yards. Senior Academic All-OAC place kicker Jimmy Marshall (Lakewood) hit a career-long and game winning 42-yard field goal to give the Yellow Jackets the victory as time expired.  Marietta scored 28 points on 274 yards passing, 130 rushing and 404 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week seven of the season, BW scored a season-high 72 points on a season-best 313 yards rushing and 254 yards passing for a season-high 567 yards of total offense with two defensive touchdowns. Wilmington scored nine points as the BW defense held the Quakers to a Yellow Jacket season-low total yards of 153 on 87 yards passing and 66 yards rushing.

BW Leaders
Offensively, freshman quarterback Keagan Armitage (Ashland) has completed 67 of 106 passes with two interceptions. Armitage ranks seventh in the OAC with 821 yards and is tied for fifth in the league with 12 touchdowns .  Sophomore All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) leads the ground attack and is sixth in the OAC with 562 yards on 121 carries and is tied for sixth in the league with six touchdowns. Junior wideout Iyan Mitchell (Tampa, Fla./Robinson) leads the receiving corps and is sixth in the OAC with 29 catches, fourth in the league with 566 yards and is tied for seventh in the conference with six touchdowns.  Defensively, senior linebacker Josh Liberati (Lisbon/David Anderson) leads the team and is eighth in the OAC with 58 tackles.  Senior defensive back Jordyn Johnson (Akron/North) is second on the squad with 48 stops and leads the team and is tied for third in OAC with seven pass breakups.

Scouting the Pioneers
In week seven of the season, Marietta scored 21 points on 251 yards passing, 20 yards rushing and 271 total yards. John Carroll scored 23 points on 177 yards rushing, 148 yards passing and 325 total yards. 

Marietta Leaders
Offensively, senior quarterback Kyle McSweeney has completed 134-of-215 passes with seven interceptions. McSweeney ranks fourth in the OAC with 1,585 yards and tied for third with 19 touchdowns.  Senior running back Tanner Clark leads the ground attack and is third in the OAC with 786 yards on 190 carries.  Clark is tied for second in the league with nine touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Andrew Barker leads the aerial assault and is 10th in the conference with 25 passes and is seventh in the OAC with 467 yards.  He leads the team and is tied for third in the league with eight touchdowns.  Defensively, sophomore linebacker Vic Giovengo leads the squad and is seventh in the conference with 61 tackles.
