WILMINGTON, Ohio - The University of Mount Union, ranked No. 2 in the most recent D3football.com Top 25 Poll, gained 535 yards of offense in a 63-6 victory over the Wilmington College football team in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest played at Williams Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Fightin' Quakers' defense earned a stop on the first drive of the game as Cory Barnett's 43-yard fied goal sailed wide right. The Purple Raiders responded with an interception of Kyle Barrett and scored eight plays later. Leading 7-0, Mount Union would score on its next four drives that were only tarnished by two botched extra point tries (one block and one bad snap).

Wilmington took over trailing 33-0 and engineered a 12-play, 75-yard drive capped by a Barrett touchdown up the middle to Itika Wynn Jr. on 4th-and-15. Unfortunately for the Quakers, the point-after attempt was blocked and returned for two points. Using that momentum, Mount Union scored one final time in the first half as D'Angelo Fulford connected with Derrick Harvey for a second touchdown with 1:08 on the clock.

Mount Union scored three touchdowns in the second half to seal the victory.

The Purple Raiders finished with 535 yards including 298 passing and 237 rushing. Wilmington had 156 total yards of offense.

Barrett finished 13-of-26 for 133 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He completed passes to three wide receivers - Wynn Jr., Ace Taylor and Deshawn Maddox. Wynn Jr. had the touchdown along with 78 yards on six receptions while Taylor had five catches for 46 yards.

Fulford led the way for Mount Union going 17-of-22 for 265 yards and five touchdowns. His main target was Justin Hill who caught seven passes for 163 yards and two scores. Josh Petruccelli racked up 114 yards on 15 carries on the ground.

Wilmington (1-4, 1-3 OAC) hosts Marietta College next Saturday.
