Recap: Visiting Brockport showed why it is the fourth-ranked team in the country on Saturday with a 55-7 defeat of Hartwick football in a game played at Wright Stadium. The Golden Eagles' defense, which entered the game allowing a national best -5.3 rushing yards per game, made it very difficult for the Hawks on the ground (-37 yards on 27 carries). However, 'Wick managed to throw for 297 yards and finished with 260 yards of total offense on a team that entered the game second in the country in total defense, averaging 167.5 yards allowed per contest. Brockport scored points on its first five possessions of the game for a 27-0 advantage early in the second quarter. After a fumble stopped the streak, the Golden Eagles scored three straight touchdowns for a 48-0 lead at the half. They closed out their day's scoring on their first possession of the second half. Hartwick got on the scoreboard on the first play of the fourth quarter on a 42-yard touchdown reception from Bryce Macina (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) to Kishaun Bell (Beacon, NY/Beacon). It marked one of several big connects from the Hartwick duo. Kevin Roberts (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) added the PAT for 'Wick.
