Adrian WR Jerron McGaw Hauls in MIAA Offensive Player of the Week Award

FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College junior wide receiver Jerron McGaw (Indianapolis, Ind./Thomas Carr Howe High School) has earned his second career Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association offensive player of the week award after a career day at Olivet College on Saturday, the MIAA announced on Monday. He also was selected the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Sep. 5 this fall.

In a 33-22 win against the Comets, McGaw led all receivers with career highs of 10 receptions and 216 yards plus two touchdowns. He hauled in a 73-yard catch-and-run from senior quarterback Clayton Uecker with six minutes and 28 seconds left in the first quarter to start the scoring. He added a 15-yard TD reception in the second to make it 16-0 in Adrian's favor at the time. McGaw's 216 receiving yards are the second-most for a game in school history.

For the season, the communication major has posted career highs of 64 receptions and 1,114 yards (ranks sixth in NCAA Division III) which list both second on the Adrian all-time chart. For his career, he is fourth in AC history with 119 catches and 1,776 yards while his 14 pass reception TDs are tied for fourth.

Adrian will have Senior Day on Saturday against Alma (1 p.m.) in the season finale at Docking Stadium. The game will be televised live in southeastern Michigan and Ohio in homes that carry the Buckeye Cable Sports Network, so check your local listings.
