Kalamazoo loses home finale to Hope

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost its home finale 50-0 to Hope College on Saturday.

Hope scored twice in the final four minutes of the first quarter to take a 13-0 lead. Neither team scored in the second quarter as the Flying Dutchmen took the 13-0 lead into halftime.

Hope scored a pair of touchdowns and took advantage of a safety in the third quarter to take a 36-0 lead. Hope added a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter while keeping the Hornets off the board.

Jared Pittman rushed for 31 yards on 10 carries for Kalamazoo. Alex White added 21 yards on 10 carries while completing 12-of-18 passes for 69 yards.

Zak Zagon led the receivers with 33 yards on three catches while Seth Dexter had 29 yards on three catches.

Clay Wilkey led the Hornet defense with 12 total tackles while Cody Howrigon had 11. Quentin Sweeney recorded eight tackles with an interception.

Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 4 with a nonconference game at Rockford (Ill.).
