FREELAND, Mich.--The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Monday named Adrian College senior placekicker Cameron Cook (Linden High School) and junior running back Emmanuel Stewart (St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs High School) the special teams and offensive player of the week, respectively. For Cook, he is the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks and earns the award for the fifth time in his career (Sep. 18, 2017; Sep. 6, 2016; Weeks 3 and 8, 2014). Stewart is a three-time recipient:  Week 5 in 2015 and Week 6 in 2014.

Stewart had game and season highs of 219 yards and 39 carries, and scored on touchdown runs of two and five yards, to help Adrian come from behind to defeat conference rival Albion College, 34-32, on Homecoming. He became the first Bulldogs back to eclipse 3,000 yards rushing, breaking Chris Clay's all-time mark of 2,969 yards, set from 2002 to 2005. He broke the mark just before the half with a 20-yard scamper down the left sideline in front of the home team bench. Stewart's second TD of the contest gave Adrian the lead for good, 31-26, with 11:14 left in the fourth quarter, capping a nine-play, 91-yard drive in 4:03.

On the season, Stewart leads the MIAA with 148.8 rushing yards per game and is ranked eighth in NCAA Division III. He also is sixth nationally with 7.35 yards per attempt.

In the two-point victory over the Britons, Cook made field goals of 36 and 43 yards in two attempts and converted all four of his extra-point tries. He kicked a 43-yarder to give the Bulldogs some insurance, 34-26, with 8:29 remaining. Late in the third quarter, he had pulled Adrian within 26-24 after a 36-yarder. He also averaged 59.7 yards on seven kickoffs.

Cook is 5-for-6 on field goals and has made 18-of-19 PAT attempts for 33 points on the season.  Cook is fourth on the school's all-time scoring chart with 176 points, which is second among kickers.

Adrian (2-2 overall) take a step out of conference play on Saturday to travel to Plymouth, Wis., to play host Lakeland College (2-2) at Taylor Field, starting at 2 p.m. Eastern (1 p.m. CT). The Muskies are out of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and the contest is part of the MIAA-NACC Challenge series. Video l LiveStats
