Kyle Burlingame had a game of the ages in leading the Carroll University football team to a 30-6 Midwest Conference north division victory over St. Norbert College. Not only did the Pioneers end a 17-game skid against their foes from the north, they were devastatingly dominant in exacting sweet revenge.

In St. Norbert's obvious attempt to stop Carroll's vaunted ground game, Burlingame used his arm and legs in the victory. He threw two first half touchdowns and ran for two more in the second half to complete his day.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a 20 yard Taylor Raymaker field goal with 3:53 remaining in the first quarter. The lead extended to 10-0 when Burlingame hit Kevin Jennings on a 37 yard scoring reception at :12 of the opening period. The score remained the same until Jennings took another Burlingame pass 78 yards to make it 17-0 at 5:50 of the second quarter. The score remained 17-0 at the break.

The Green Knights tried to make a game of it in the second half and found the end zone at 9:20 of the third quarter but failed on its extra point attempt.

Burlingame then rushed for a 1-yard touchdown at :45 of the third quarter and added an eight yard scamper with 10:05 to play in the game to complete the scoring.

Burlingame finished the day with 286 yards in the air while completing 20-of-28 attempts. He also added 54 yards on the ground. Lamont Williams led the Pioneers with 61 yards on the ground while Jennings caught nine passes for 179 yards.

Carroll's defense also shined on the day, limiting the two-time defending champions to just 197 yards of total offense. Michael Sahli led CU with nine tackles, including 1 ½ sacks while Ryan Klapper and Josh Dummer added an interception and forced fumble, respectively.

Today's victory improves Carroll to 5-0 on the season, matching its five victories to start the 1992 campaign.
