GREENSBORO, N.C. – Host Guilford College used a dominating offensive performance Saturday afternoon to key a 56-29 ODAC football victory over Shenandoah.

The Quakers (3-2, 2-0 ODAC) rolled up 705 yards in total offense on their way to the win over SU (2-3, 1-1).

Sophomore quarterback Matt Pawlowski did most of the damage, throwing for 360 yards and six touchdowns on 26 completions in 31 attempts.

Pawlowski was 5 for 5 for 103 yards and three TDs in the third quarter as GC turned a 21-0 halftime contest into a 49-7 advantage.

Trailing 21-0 at the break, Shenandoah appeared to get back in it on its initial drive of the third as sophomore Brandon Adams hauled in a Drew Ferguson pass and sprinted 77 yards for the Hornets first TD of the game.

Unfortunately, it took Pawlowski just one play to answer, as he hit Drew Smith with a 75-yard TD strike to bring the margin back to 21 points.

He would throw two more TD passes in the stanza, at 7:16 and 4:35 (both to Josh Jurgevich) to seal the victory for the Quakers. The TD pass was his final one of the game as he sat out the fourth period.

But Shenandoah refused to fold its collective tent.

Adams hauled in another TD pass, this one a 30-yarder from Justin Neff, to make it 49-14 with 55 seconds remaining in the third.

After Jurgevich scored his final touchdown, Andrew Smith had a 1-yard TD run at 6:50 and Cedrick Delaney a 78-yard TD reception from Ferguson to complete the day's scoring.

Ferguson ran in a bobbled PAT snap for the final points of the game.

Shenandoah had 445 yards in total offense on its own with Neff throwing for 174 yards and Ferguson 161.

Adams had 119 yards receiving on four catches and Delaney 114 on just two receptions.

Michael Wroble paced the defense with seven tackles.

SU hosts Catholic next Saturday in a 1:00 homecoming contest.
