TACOMA, Wash. – Junior Adam Kniffin and senior Tyler Vlasak highlighted four Loggers to be selected to the All-Northwest Conference football teams released on Wednesday. Kniffin and Vlasak each earned a spot on the All-NWC First Team.
In addition to the accolades of Kniffin and Vlasak, sophomore Thiesen Chang was selected to the Second Team and senior Casey Coberly earned Honorable Mention.
"We are very fortunate to be honored with four All-NWC selections and congratulate each of them on their accomplishments this season," said head coach Jeff Thomas.
Kniffin, a receiver from Salem, Ore., had another record-breaking season in 2011 with 95 catches and 995 yards to earn First Team All-NWC honors for the second consecutive year. He also grabbed 12 touchdowns to become the Loggers all-time leader in touchdown receptions. Kniffin ranked first in the conference in touchdowns receptions, receiving yards and receptions in 2011. He also ranked second in Division III in receptions per game.
Vlasak, a linebacker from Sumner, Wash., led the NWC in tackling with 96 tackles on the season. He also had a pair of interceptions to rank second on the Loggers. The First Team selection is the second All-NWC selection of Vlasak's career as he was also selected to the Second Team in 2009.
Chang, a receiver out of Vancouver, Wash., had a solid sophomore season to earn his first All-NWC accolades. He hauled in 61 passes for 719 yards, both of which were career-highs. He also grabbed a pair of touchdowns and ranked third in the conference with 79.9 yards per game.
Coberly, a senior defensive end from Boise, Idaho, earned Honorable Mention for the third time in his career. His 11 tackles for loss led the Loggers as did his three sacks.
The Loggers will return both Kniffin and Chang as part of a group of 20 starters that will return next season.
