WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 14) – The Waynesburg University football team will get a chance to end the 2011 season on a high note on Saturday, Nov. 19, as it has accepted a bid to play in the 2011 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Atlantic Bowl.

The Yellow Jackets (5-4, 5-3) will face the Widener Pride out of the Middle Atlantic Conference. Widener posted an impressive 8-2 overall record and went 6-2 in conference action. The Pride ended the 2011 regular season with a 56-28 loss to national power Delaware Valley and defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) member Thiel 44-14 back on Sept. 10.

Kickoff for the contest is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium. This weekend's showdown with the Pride marks Waynesburg's first postseason appearance since playing in the 2007 ECAC Southeast Bowl against Dickinson. The Jackets fell to the Red Devils 16-10. Fellow PAC member Saint Vincent also accepted an ECAC bid and will face Lebanon Valley in the Division III Southwest Bowl.
