CMS, aided by great fan support, extended their record to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the SCIAC with 20-14 win over the University of La Verne.  A large crowd showed up to see the Stags handle the Leos on Saturday night.  The game wasn't pretty, but the offense did enough and the defense played great to combine for a winning effort.  Players of the week include Ross Sevy (Offense), Adam Morris (Defense) and David Spiller (Special Teams).  CMS rushed for over 200 yards led by quarterback Patrick Rooney who rushed for 128 yards including a 52-yard touchdown run late in the game.  The defense held the Leos to just over 50 yards rushing, broke up 14 passes and sacked or hit the La Verne quarterback 25 times to force 31 incomplete passes and one interception.

This week CMS welcomes Chapman University to Zinda Field.  The game will be at 7:00 Saturday night.  The Stags are hoping a great week of practice can lead to a fourth straight win and avenge a disappointing loss to the Panthers last season.
