Wittenberg fumbled four times leading to a pair of Baldwin-Wallace touchdowns. This was the only time two conference rivals met in the Stagg Bowl. Both Baldwin-Wallace and Wittenberg were members of the Ohio Athletic Conference at the time. The teams had played to a 17-17 tie in the OAC championship game.
