Saint Vincent College announced today that it has opened a search for a new coach to lead its football program. Head football coach Ron Dolciato will not return for the 2019 season.

The Bearcats, who were coming off consecutive 0-10 seasons when Dolciato was hired, won four games in each of his first two seasons, but were 1-9 this past season.

"We are deeply grateful for the effort and sacrifices Ron made in his five years as head coach, and for the sincere interest he took in the welfare of the young men who played under him," said Br. Norman Hipps, O.S.B., president of Saint Vincent.

During Dolciato's first four years, 40 team members were recognized as All-Conference performers in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.

"We all wish Ron well as he continues his coaching career," said Saint Vincent athletic director Fr. Myron Kirsch, O.S.B., adding that the search for a new coach will begin immediately.
