St. Lawrence pitched another shutout to wrap up its non-conference schedule, while Alfred got its conference slate started with a win. Each are among a large number of teams to end Week 3 with a 3-0 mark.

Jayson Leigh returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown, defensive back James Holley-Grisham caught a TD pass and the rest of the defense did its job as well, as St. Lawrence improved to 3-0 with a 38-0 win vs. Endicott.

All three of the Saints' wins to open the season have come by shutout. Endicott was held to 153 yards of total offense, including 36 yards on 26 carries. Entering Saturday's evening games, St. Lawrence's three season-opening opponents, Morrisville State, Norwich and Endicott, were a combined 0-7. The Saints have not been scored on since the middle of the third quarter against Mount Union in last year's first-round NCAA playoff game. The official total is 204 minutes and 11 seconds and counting. "Three straight shutout wins is unbelievable," said coach Dan Puckhaber. "One shutout is hard enough because there is so many ways a team can score."

Tyler Johnson rushed for four touchdowns to lead Alfred to a 34-10 victory at Buffalo State, as the Saxons improved to 3-0, winning their Empire 8 conerence opener. Buff State (1-1, 0-1) cut the lead to 20-10 midway through the third, but Alfred responded with two unanswered touchdowns to put the game out of reach. After Johnson's 24-yard pass to junior wideout Rodney Etienne put the ball at the Buff State 1-yard line, Johnson bulled in for his fourth TD.

On a day in which Central honored the late Ron Schipper, his Dutch turned in a Schipper-like performance. Three Central quarterbacks combined to go 22-for-35 passing for 242 yards and a touchdown, while the Dutch defense bent but did not break in a 33-0 win vs. Buena Vista. Central improved to 3-0. BVU managed 345 yards of total offense but turned the ball over three times in falling to 0-3.

Karsten Miller threw three touchdowns and ran for another in Guilford's 30-28 win at Averett. It was the Quakers' school-record ninth win in a row, dating to last season. Quakers running back De'Eric Bell ran 27 times for a game-high 146 yards, 101 of which came in the second half.

Heidelberg sent Ohio Northern to its second consecutive defeat, and in decisive fashion as well. The Student Princes rattled off the first 32 points of the game and made it look easy in a 45-14 win. Tyler Stoyle threw five touchdown passes, while Austin Crow had five tackles for loss, two of them sacks.

Pacific picked up its first win of the season, but had to leave the mainland to do it. After two close losses to open the season, the Boxers flew past Occidental 45-22, fueled by 251 yards and two touchdowns from quarterback Campbell Summerfield. It was the first Division III football game played in the state of Hawaii.

Bethel's early-season woes continued, as Concordia-Moorhead topped the Royals by a 21-13 score. It's just the second win for the Cobbers in the past eight meetings between the two teams.

Ferrum beat an ODAC school for the second time this season, taking it to Hampden-Sydney 42-20 on Saturday in a game played at Salem Stadium, the home of the Stagg Bowl. Quarterback Harvey Taylor ran for 140 yards and threw for 140 more, while Brian Mann ran for 180 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

While Hampden-Sydney fell to 0-3, its archrival was one of two ODAC teams to improve to an early 3-0. Randolph-Macon jumped out to a 20-3 lead and added a couple of fourth quarter scores as the Yellow Jackets went on to defeat Methodist 34-16. Tre Frederick had 131 yards on 27 carries and scored one of Randolph-Macon's four rushing touchdowns in the victory. Lucas Morley caught four touchdown passes and Catholic got a key defensive stop late in the fourth quarter as the Cardinals improved to 3-0 as well, defeated Coast Guard 37-35. Jorge Pola completed 24 of his 34 pass attempts in the win. Catholic knocked down an Ethan Goldcamp pass on fourth down in Cardinal territory with 5:27 left to preserve a nine-point lead, then had to hold again after Coast Guard scored and recovered the onside kick.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps rallied with 18 fourth-quarter points, including a 34-yard field goal by Matthew Aven as time expired, as the Stags got past Washington & Lee 31-28 on Saturday. In one of the most interesting road trips not involving a Hawaiian island, CMS went across the country and came away with a signature win, as the Stags overcame three interceptions, rallying from a 21-0 second-quarter deficit to improve to 2-0.

RPI came out on top in a battle of top academic schools informally dubbed the Brain Bowl, as the Engineers defeated MIT 31-10. Mike Tivinis led nine RPI ball-carriers with 123 yards and a touchdown, while the Engineers picked off MIT quarterback Udgam Goyal four times.

Nick Sullivan scored on a fourth-and-goal from the 1 with 23 seconds left and Alma defeated Concordia (Wis.) 31-28. CUW had scored three consecutive touchdowns, the last one capping a 93-yard drive to take a 28-24 lead with 2:06 left. But Alma responded with a big pass play, and a personal foul penalty set them up at the 13, where it was all Sullivan from there. Sullivan had 31 carries for 106 yards, while quarterback Dylan Zaborowski ran for 99 and threw for 268 in the win.

Jacob Doolan rushed for 154 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown from 9 yards out with 19 seconds remaining to lift Maine Maritime to a 42-35 victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the 44th Annual Admiral's Cup contest. Maine Maritime jumped out to a 21-0 lead before the Buccaneers rallied to take a 35-34 lead.

Ryan Sample leapt over the pile from 2 yards out with just over a minute remaining to help Benedictine rally to a 35-28 victory over visiting Adrian. Sample's touchdown capped a frantic nine-play 75-yard drive in just 1:30 moments after Adrian scored to lead for the first time at 28-27 with 2:35 left in the contest. Sample completed passes of 36 yards and 19 yards along with adding a 15-yard run to set up the winning score.
