Coming off a 2015 season in which Becker set a program record for wins, Hawks coach Mike Lichten is leaving the college, D3sports.com has learned.

The Hawks went 15-35 in Lichten's five seasons, including a 7-3 mark this past season, which not only set the school record for victories but was better than and two of the program's previous 10 seasons combined. Becker finished the season with four consecutive wins, including a 35-21 victory at Castleton, with whom the Hawks tied for third place in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference.

There are two known head coaching openings among Division III schools in New England. Those are Williams, which saw Aaron Kelton resign in December, and the University of New England, which is starting football in 2017 and has yet to announce a coaching hire.

Frank Forcucci was named interim head coach at Becker.
