There aren't many stats one can assign to an offensive lineman. But when it comes to the NFL combine, it's all about the measureables.

Hobart lineman Ali Marpet put up a big one on Friday, Feb. 20, when he posted the fastest 40-yard dash time among all offensive linemen, running a 4.98. The first-team D3football.com All-American could become the first Division III player drafted in three years.

"He's got the ability to be a starting center in the NFL," NFL analyst Mike Mayock said on NFL Network during its coverage of the combine.

Marpet officially measured in at 6 feet, 3-7/8 inches, and 307 pounds. He posted 30 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press at the combine, among the top results for linemen as well.

"Dude is checking off all the boxes," Mayock said.

The last Division III player drafted was Albion cornerback Chris Greenwood, a fifth-round selection of the Detroit Lions in 2012. No D-III offensive lineman has been drafted since 1996, when Ethan Brooks of Williams went to the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round.
