A few unbeaten but unranked teams had the opportunity to prove themselves against opponents with a little more prestige on Saturday. But in the end, Chicago, Gustavus and Emory & Henry couldn’t get over the hump.

Of course, those losses, and others by UW-Stevens Point and Wesleyan, still leave Division III with nearly two dozen unbeaten teams. That seems like a lot for this time of year, but that’s not too unusual.

We remember what an unpopular decision it was to hire the guy who has won 100 of his first 106 career games as a head coach and talk about who to re-evaluate in the Top 25. Plus, Pat and Keith each give out their game balls, look beyond the obvious games to some underappreciated highlights and much more.

  1. Nice podcast. Thanks for all the effort you guys put into covering D3 sports. You mentioned Holton Walker of Hampden Sydney in your podcast today. You were correct in that his 275 was the 3rd best receiving performance in ODAC history. There was a question as to who holds the 1st and 2nd spots. I looked it up tonight. Nick Bublavi of CUA holds the record with an amazing 386 yards. He accomplished this in 2005 against La Salle. Second is Earl Peoples of RMC. In 2009 Peoples had 295 yards against Washington and Lee.

I would like to mention that with his performance the other day Holton now has 3 of the top 10 all-time single game efforts in ODAC history. He has the 3rd (275 yards), 4th (268 yards) and 7th (235 yards) best single day performances.
