Mount Union survived a big third quarter and the top-ranked Purple Raiders defeated No. 9 Heidelberg 44-34. Down 30-13 at the half, the Student Princes scored twice to cut the lead to 30-27, but could not get any closer. B.J. Mitchell, making his second start at running back, went for 152 yards and a touchdown for the Purple Raiders in the win.

It was the first big test of the season for the Student Princes. They got back into the game in the third quarter thanks in part to a questionable turnover which the officials called a fumble but appeared to be an incomplete pass by Kevin Burke. Coach Vince Kehres said after the game the officials told him nobody had seen the play.

Matt Behrendt threw for four touchdowns and Jordan Ratliffe ran for 175 yards as No. 6 UW-Whitewater defeated No. 8 UW-Platteville 35-16. Joe Worth caught three TD passes to lead the way for the Warhawks.

Fourth-ranked North Central scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away to a 46-17 win at No. 13 Illinois Wesleyan. Spencer Stanek was 32-for-45 passing for 337 yards and three TDs in the win.

Josh Yoder threw for two touchdowns, but he ran for four as Linfield rolled past Willamette 56-15. Prolific Bearcats quarterback Josh Dean was held to 160 total yards and was picked off twice. Josh Hill added 164 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the No. 2 Wildcats.

Alfred upended No. 23 Salisbury 31-21 as three Saxon quarterbacks threw touchdown passes.  That result gives Ithaca a chance to win the Empire 8 next weekend. The Bombers shut out Frostburg 23-0 and travel to Salisbury next weekend.

No. 18 St. Thomas scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to edge Augsburg 17-14. The Tommies only had 231 yards of offense but forced five Auggie turnovers. Thomas Schleusener kicked a 37-yard field goal in the second overtime to lift Gustavus Adolphus past St. John's 23-20. It was his third field goal of the game.

No. 10 UW-Oshkosh rushed for a season-high 245 yards in a 35-20 victory over UW-Stevens Point. Cole Myhra went for 106 yards on 21 carries. No. 12 Johns Hopkins seized full control of the Centennial Conference with a 24-18 at home over Ursinus, rallying in the fourth quarter to do so. Jonny West completed 30 of 48 passes for 305 yards and five TDs, two of them to Kyle Linville as No. 11 Franklin defeated Defiance 41-7. The Yellowjackets were held to 34 rushing yards in the loss.

No. 3 Mary Hardin-Baylor scored a defensive touchdown on the game's opening series and then added another score on its first offensive play as the Cru steamrolled to an 80-0 victory over Howard Payne. No. 16 John Carroll remained unbeaten heading into next week's showdown with Heidelberg, rolling over Wilmington 63-3. The Blue Streaks play Heidelberg and Mount Union to end the regular season.

Carleton scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to cut into the lead taken by No. 22 Concordia-Moorhead but the Cobbers held the Knights at bay the rest of the way in a 35-27 win. No. 5 Bethel remained unbeaten and atop the MIAC with a 55-6 win at Hamline. No. 14 Wabash and No. 17 Wittenberg each had an easy time on Saturday, setting up next weekend's NCAC showdown.
