Saturday's Game: Today's game is the annual Bendekovic Bowl battle between Ohio Northern and Heidelberg. The trophy is named after the late Ron and Jason Bendekovic, who passed away in recent years while serving as assistant coaches at ONU and HU, respectively ... ONU is 0-3 in in the Bendekovic Bowl series, which began in 2011 ... QB Patrick Angle and WR Devon Price are off to fast starts to lead the Ohio Northern offense ... Angle leads ONU in both rushing and passing through two games this season ... Angle is 2nd in the OAC with 489 yards passing and is 7th in the league with 190 yards rushing ... He leads the league in total offense, averaging 339.5 yards per game ... Price leads the OAC with 18 receptions for 253 yards and 3 TDs and is tops in the OAC with 414 all-purpose yards and a 27.0-yard kickoff return average ... Angle hit Price on a 10-yard TD pass with 9 seconds left to lift the Polar Bears to a 37-35 victory at Baldwin Wallace last Saturday ... ONU has rallied from large deficits to win twice on the road this season ... ONU trailed 17-0 in the second quarter at Washington (Mo.) before storming back to win 31-24 on Sept. 6. Last week, ONU trailed 14-0 and 28-14 before eventually winning 37-35 at Baldwin Wallace ... HU dropped a 43-16 decision to #10 John Carroll last weekend in University Heights ... LB Clay Staib returned an interception 100 yards for a second quarter score and RB Cartel Brooks ran for a 94-yard TD in the fourth quarter to lead HU ... Brooks finished with 116 yards and a TD and is eight yards shy of setting a new Heidelberg career record for rushing.
