BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott football team hosts No. 5/5 nationally ranked Hardin-Simmons on Friday night at 7 PM. Here's a preview of the matchup.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Cowboys are ranked fifth in both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D3football.com polls; Hardin-Simmons has been nationally ranked for 83 straight weeks — including 56 consecutive weeks in the top-10
- Friday's game will mark the first time Endicott has played a team from Texas; other programs the Gulls have played out of the region include New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.
- Hardin-Simmons' football program began competition in 1897 (earned 500th win in program history last season)
- Some notable national rankings for the Cowboys include: red zone offense (1st, 6-6), completion percentage (5th, .745), rushing offense (19th, 236 yards per game), passing offense (51st, 285.5), total offense (12th, 521.5), scoring offense (48th, 37.5 points per game)
- Keep an eye on Hardin-Simmons running backs Noah Garcia (Abilene, Texas) and Colton Marshall (Abilene, Texas) as the duo combined for 191 yards and four touchdowns against No. 11 nationally ranked Wisconsin-La Crosse.
