LAST TIME OUT
The Seahawks earned their sixth victory of the season as senior running back Joey Mauriello (Colts Neck, N.J.) rushed for 203 yards on 30 carries (6.8 ypc) and also scored three touchdowns (56, 14, 10) to lead Salve Regina University football (6-1, 2-1 CCC) to a 35-20 road victory over Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Bison Bowl on Saturday afternoon.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST

  • A quartet of Seahawks - Zack Catarius, Joey Mauriello, Pete Noonan, Elian Telford - will lead the 2021 squad as captains.
  • The Seahawks play their fourth of five games at Toppa Field in 2021. Undefeated at home includes wins over MIT (21-16 on Sept. 11), Rowan (50-35 on Sept. 25), and University of New England (48-6 on Oct. 9).
  • Salve Regina won 31 of its first 33 games at Toppa.
  • The Seahawks are averaging just shy of 40 points per game on the Toppa turf this year (119 in three games), and seek their fourth home win of the season.
  • Despite its one loss by 38 points (41-3 at Western New England), Salve Regina still has outscored its CCC opponents in three games (86-67).
  • Mauriello leads all league rushers by a lot ... averaging 184.4 yards per game on the ground while the next player (Joshua Pierre-Charles of Nichols) averages just 72.3 yards per game. He also has the most touchdowns scored (12, includes 11 rushing and one after a pass reception).
  • Jack Maguire ranks third among passers with 207.6 yards per game in the air. He has thrown for the most touchdowns (15) as well.
  • Dylan Budnik and Alex Pitser are first and third, respectively, in total sacks with six and four apiece.
  • Chris Maida has made a league-best 25 extra point kicks (PATs).

GULLS GALLERY 

  • The Gulls have won their first three conference contests by a combined score of 103-65, and that includes wins over Curry (34-27), Western New England (45-21), and Husson (24-17).
  • Shane Aylward ranks fourth in the league in receiving yards (71.4 ypg) and has scored the second most touchdowns (five) via catching passes.
  • Mike Ingraffia has tossed seven TDs as the Endicott signal caller.
  • John Kenney ranks third in rushing average (71.3 ypg) and second in touchdowns (seven).
  • Gulls and Seahawks are separated by one (1) yard in passing totals -- Salve Regina has 113 completions for 1,495 yards and Endicott has 123 completions for 1,494 yards.
  • Both teams have thrown five interceptions.
  • Both teams are 5-for-10 (50.0%) in fourth-down conversions.
  • Ryan Smith has a league-best 10 field goals made (14 attempted) with a long of 41 yards.


INSIDE THE SERIES
The Seahawks earned their first victory in the series in 2008 (20-17) after dropping the first five. In the three meetings prior to 2008, the Gulls outscored the Seahawks, 118-10. Since 2008, Salve Regina has won eight of 12 meetings. In six of those victories, the Seahawks have scored 40 or more points. Salve Regina has won five of the last six meetings; Endicott won its last visit to Toppa Field, 30-24, on October 5, 2019. Last season's meeting scheduled in Beverly, Mass., was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Salve Regina plays its final home game of 2021 next Saturday (Senior Day - October 30) when Curry College visits Toppa Field for a noon kickoff on Fall Festival Weekend (Oct. 29-31).
