Right place, right time

More news about: Olivet

It had been a pretty disastrous series for Kalamazoo. The Hornets started at their own 26 but took a 21-yard sack, an intentional grounding penalty, and were sacked again to the 1-yard line. So when George Fishback lined up to punt, there wasn't much room to work with. That's when Trevor Wyman got through and blocked the punt, and Javon Moore was right in the right spot to receive the carom and convert it into a touchdown, rather than a safety. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 8 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

  • Tom Emberley of MIT breaks through and blocks Western New England's extra point attempt with under a minute left, preserving the Engineers' one-point lead and unbeaten season. Watch
  • So, you've seen the Statue of Liberty play before, but watch how Franklin's Joey Pasquale fights his way through two Rose-Hulman defenders for a touchdown. Watch
  • And you've seen defenders take back interceptions for a touchdown before, but how often have you seen a defensive end go 97 yards for the score? That's what Whitworth's Danny Welstad does in a 62-30 win vs. Puget Sound. Watch
